If you have ever asked or been asked to marry someone how did it happen, was it a weird one, romantic, cheesey, or so pathetic that it was sweet? I've been asked twice the first was just pathetic. the other I cant tell. At bout 4 am I get a text will you marry me and before I can say anything he was calling to ask. He was working out of state and it was christmas.what so you think?

I did say yes, and a week ago after almost 3yrs we split the sheets and we never did make it to the altar.

Marriage is pretty serious or at least it should be. A proposal by text message is pretty lame and pathetic. I think it is a sign that he does not take marriage or you seriously enough. You should not have to wonder about it. Sorry you've had a bad experience twice, but hang it there, someone will come along that will treat you right.

For me the romance came first. The question came easy. As a matter of fact the question was in form of sort of a statement. "Why don't we just get married?"
Question asked and answered. It'll be different for everyone. That's what makes the world go 'round!

It was at a beach. It was weird and felt fake and forced. I think if he loves you he wouldn't do it over the phone when he is so far away. Thats pathetic.

i know one it was at 2:00 and couple were playing chinese checkes and he just asked her straight out "Willl you marry marry me?"
they have two girls righ now and they are a very happy couple
