Well if it's the food and not the glamour, go to little italy.
you will find Mama Teresa's Taormina, thats siicilian, and many really great italian restuarants. Mulberry st, Canal St . Then theres Umberto's clam house . The best place I ever ate italian food was in Litt;le Italy . And it's not high priced , And I am one fussy Italian girl. When it comes to italian food NYC has a great
selection . I am certain you will love it.Bueno Appetite

My favorite place in Little Italy is Luna on Mullberry - great food, great prices

Becco - West 47th Street - Their all you can eat pasta special is always the best! The osso bucco is also amazing. This is not fancy, but very nice setting. Their other restaurant, Felidia is also amazing Italian food, but more high end.

Il Mullino - 86 West 3rd Street - Old school Italian, hard to get reservations, but 100% worth it. Ask for help with the menu, the waiters are very helpful

Babbo - Mario Batali's number one restaurant in the city - not your average Italian, lots of different meats (quail, sweetbreads, etc.)

Supper - East 2nd Street- communal tables, great pastas, their chicken cutlet is incredible, daily specials are the best to order

Ask anyone in NYC and they will tell you their little neighborhood favorites. They might not be fancy, but you can still find some great meals.

I'm looking for the same thing, but for Christmas Eve dinner... I was told by (Ivan) the concierge at the Park City Hotel to check the "Menu Pages" website. So far it has been helping me find the right place with the right price.

For good pizza, go to BIG NICK's PIZZA JOINT off of 76th and 7th in manhattan. Take the 1,2, or 3 subway line to 72nd and walk north four blocks. BEST FOOD-- and they're 24 hours. Good area too. Very safe.

You cannot go wrong with Mario Batali's restaurants. From low to high end: Otto, Lupa, Babbo, Del Posto. Note; Otto does not take reservations and is jammed at peak hours. Lupa is my favorite. Del Posto is very high end.

If I had to go to one it would be Lupa.
