We know that Paul says to pray without ceasing, and we say our little prayers during the day at work, or in the car, or wherever.

When do you do your more formal-type prayer; you know, when you pray for people off a list, ask for things for the world and it's people, for pastors, ask forgiveness, meditate; I think you are getting what I mean...the big daddy prayers. Do you do it at night or in the morning or on lunchbreak? Why?

I pray every night before sleeping and every day before dinner. I also pray at Mass every Sunday. Why I pray at Mass is obvious, I think. Dinner is with the family, and I feel it is good for a family to pray together. It presents positive role models for one another and helps keep everyone in touch with God. I pray at night partly because that's my habit and partly because it's a time when I reflect on the day gone by and on the days to come. It's when I'm least pressured by mundane matters and most able to focus all my attention on God. Currently, I'm working on establishing another time each day to routinely pray to God because I feel sometimes I'm being distracted away from him. Haven't gotten that down yet, though.

I have my most formal-type prayers at night before I go to sleep. I do this because every day something new or different happens, and that affects what I pray about.

My more formal prayers are all done in group settings, either in church or in other family or similar gatherings.

When I am alone I pray informally and at times constantly. I have no set time to do this.

I pray every evening for a few minutes. I figure God doesn't need a whole lot of reminding about my wants and needs, or even my sins. I need to remind myself about God's presence in my life. I do attend church worship weekly and pray during those services.

I don't really have a 'routine' as such - but I the I like to start the day with as much prayer as I can fit in, as it ensures you start the day with a good focus on God. Rather than starting the day with a focus on yourself or your 'worries'.

I try my best to keep the routine* to three times daily. Upon waking up; at noon time; and at dusk.

Peace be with you.
