If someone answers this question and gives you the true meaning of eternal destruction or damnation, you will not receive it regardless, you are not asking to be enlightened you are asking to find contradictions, and pass judgment on God (The God You Don't Believe Exist But Care So Much About) So what is the point exactly?

Those who believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.--John 3:16. You either get eternal life or you perish. I disagree with many christians when they say people will be tormented forever. The word for perish means total and utter destruction in the greek language, which is what it was written in. BUT... the punishment, which is death is irreverssible. The person who is throne into hell is utterly destroyed, never to live again. Therefore the punishment IS eternal. Some people say everyone has eternal life, it's just a matter of where you spend it. That's not what the bible says. Eternal life is a gift to those who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Everyone else will die as the Bible says...the wages of sin is death, and it is forever,

You choose to see it as you want to see it. The fact is; God is in control, He does things that don't fit into the box that people want to put Him in. He owns it, and all that are in the world. So you can judge Him all you want.
The first part of your question seems to show how confused you are about this. God knows that we all act sinful. There aren't any of us that don't. But we can trust Him.
Everyone who is lucky enough to hear or see His message can either disbelieve, or believe. What you do is between Him and you, and He's leaving it up to you. But the consequences are laid out, whichever way you decide to go.
If God is a sadist as you say, then what? So you are going to piss off a sadist who has all power? What would be smarter?

For the record, God does not throw anyone into Hell for the way they "act." On the other side of the coin we do not get into Heaven for the way we "act" either. We are saved by grace.
Satan is the sadist. He is pulling you toward Hell.
God loves all of us and does not want anyone to perish, but He loves us so much that he does not force Himself on us and turn us into his robots bent to His will. So, He gives us all a choice. We don't have to follow Him and if we want to follow Satan instead we are free to go to Hell if we choose.
Obviously -- you being an athiest -- don't believe in God, Heaven or Hell anyway.........so why even bring it up? You've got it all figured out right? Are you questioning your choice?
IF YOU'RE LIVING LIKE THERE IS NO HELL YOU BETTER BE RIGHT

Man is created with a spirit which is the eternal part of man. God gave Adam who represented all mankind a choice to eat from the tree of life (ie spending eternal life with God) or from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (ie living life by his own wits separated from God). Adam ate from the latter which made him liable live in his spirit eternally separated from God or in hell. God has made a way for man to get out of hell by believing in Jesus Christ who died for his sins so that He can be his Savior and Lord. God has already solved our sin problem by making Jesus responsible and taking punishment for our sins. The only reason we go to hell is if we do not choose to believe that Jesus Christ has died for our sins and to accept Him as our Lord and Savior. We only go to hell because of our unbelief. So it is a matter of our own choice to put ourselves in heaven or in hell. What so unjust about this way out that God has arranged for us?

It is called Free Will. It is not His Will that any show perish but that all should have eternal life. But He is not a dictator God. He gave us all the choice to be good or do evil, to trust and believe in Him or not. We make our own choices and then He will make His. May God Bless

Long ago, our first parents chose a destiny for themselves and all their offspring, by aligning themselves with the forces of evil, and against God.
God sent his son to destroy the hold that evil had gained on us, but the choice still remains our own.
Stick with evil, and share in Satan's own eternal destiiny
OR
Declare your faith in Jesus Christ, and receive an inheritance worthy of a child of God.
Nothing sadistic about that!

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Galatians 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written. The just shall live by faith.
God will not necassarily throw you into hell for what you DO, but rather your object of faith, now if you claim to be a christian but don't bear fruit, remember what Jesus said:
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
so we see we must abide in christ, the word abide is an action word, meaning to continually live
we must either walk in christ, or be cast into the fire, it is our choice, and no, God is not evil as you are saying.
2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

when we stand before God's judgment seat, before our Creator and sustainer of life, before the One who loved us so much that He sent His only son into the world to die for us - when we stand before Him and see the enormity of our sins and our terrible rebellion, when we really begin to see how black and corrupt our hearts have been - not one of us will point a finger at God and say "it is your fault".
Every single person who is cast into an eternity without God will fully understand that it is right and just and absolutely proper for him/her to go to hell.
We have very little idea how much God loves us, how much He sacrificed to gain us an entrance into heaven, or how much we deserve hell. someday we shall understand fully.
god bless!!

Actually, the Bible says, Eternal Destruction........
Hell is not where your soul goes to live, Hell is where your soul goes to die.
People make their choices in life and Hell is one of those choices.....God puts no one in Hell, people put themselves there.
Edit:
I fully answered your question and then some.....
