Ask God to make Himself real to you.
Be honest with Him. Confess your sins before Him.
Begin to read the bible. Ask God to make it real and alive to you.
Seek out a good church - a church that studies the bible, prays, sings songs of worship.
Open your heart to God. He wants you to believe, He wants to reveal Himself to you, He wants to make Himself real to your heart.
Learn about Jesus - read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Learn about the early church- read the book of Acts
Obey God - maybe there is something you haven't been willing to do that He wants you to do - Trust Him, love Him, obey Him.

What you believe may change therefore what you need is to know the eternal unchanging God. This comes from a personal realization of God. God will light the path that is uniquely your own. I am so grateful for John 14 because it describes the essence of the role of the Holy Spirit. "And I will ask the Father, and he will send to you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees it not knows it. But you will know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you." Here is the process:
-Invite God into your mind, soul and spirit because God will not enter where God is not invited;
-Read the God inspired writings of the major religions. Try to read these as a child would read them without using a critical and analytical mind. You want to experience their experience. I would suggest that the early Christian writings both contained in the Bible and through the Gnostic texts are great examples of people who had direct contact with God. I would also recommend the Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda;
You may find that it is helpful for you to do a self-analysis to eliminate biases, attitudes, beliefs and habits which are inconsistent with the love, peace and beauty of God. When Michelangelo was asked how he was able to create the masterpiece of the Statue of David he said I took the stone and removed what did not belong. You must remove from yourself that which does not belong;
Strive to be happy engage in activities which are consistent with the path to God and which give you joy. Joy will help synchronize your mind with the mind of God;
Be kind, then be kinder, then be the kindest person you can conceive of being.
Through this process you and God will light the light of knowledge within you.

You don't have to know how, you just are if you so choose to be. It is one thing to believe, but to have a oneness with God is another. In order to become one with God you must walk with God. To achieve this you must pray everyday, even for the most stupidest things. To God, nothing you pray for is stupid. Once you become one with God, you will experience his kingdom on Earth. And you will be able to withstand all of the worldly evils that will try to overtake you.

First of all do you believe in God?? if yes, but you need help you should find a church that is penticostal, read bible and pray and i am pretty sure God will lead your life in many miracle ways that you never thought of, because he loves you and he wants only the best for his children.

Look into it for yourself. Search different religions, not just Christian religions either. Look into Taoism, Hinduism, and yes, though most will abhor me for saying it, even Muslim. If you search for God, you will either will or will not find him. Either way at least you tried. And just make up your mind for yourself don't listen to people who call you ignorant for believing, or disbelieving, in some sort of Supreme Being.
