Eat like 6 little meals a day, . Exercise, it will help you lose weight and increase lean muscle mass (don't be scared it's good) when your lean mass increases your metabolism will increase with it. Do aerobic exercises like walking, riding, swimming...it helps your metabolism increase more 4-8 hours after you work out, in this time you can eat and your calories will burn at a faster rate. Weight lifting, resistance, anything with weights will NOT increase metabolism, but it will decrease fat and help build that lean muscle mass. Try exercising in the morning thats when your metabolism will speed up.

blacktwinus 's answer sounds really great and could even be professional. That would be an all-natural way of increasing your metabolism. I have read that muscle mass will help you to burn calories and I guess that is metabolism at work.
Hire a fitness trainer to jumpstart your fitness program. Remember the risks involved in using some kind of caffein. For instance, you might use a little cup of coffee to help you get on your feet, but it is best to not depend on it. In fact, when you are really fit, you shouldn't need anything with any kind of caffein.
But, still, some kind of caffein whether herbal or other, is another way to boost the metabolism. Don't forget to consult with your physician about your health and fitness needs or plans.

My wife and I drink a natural and healthy energy drink twice a day (8am & 1pm) and it has improved our health and our energy tremedously as we are both 45. It is the first energy drink to hit the market in powder form and it is ez to mix no matter where you are at. Pour in one pack to a bottle of plain or flavored water, juice, or your beverage of choice and you have an awesome drink that works in minutes and last for hours. I have even lost some weight on these as well. They only cost $1 each (not including shipping) I can send you some FREE samples if you would like. See my profile for details. Best of luck to you
