I have auburn hair and about a year ago I noticed that in random spots I had black hairs growing on my head. Sometimes they are much shorter then the rest of the hairs and they stand straight up. After about a year it stopped and then recently started again. I am 37 years old. Was thinking could I be getting black hair instead of gray? Has anyone ever heard of this?

As you age, your hair color changes from its natural color to grey first, then to white.

The change in color is basically a gradual decrease of pigmentation!

Some changes in pigmentation can be due to treatments... such as chemo therapy and radiation!

I am guessing that you have very dark grey color that it almost look black... specially when its growing with auburn! I think it kinda cheats our vision and makes it look darker when its growing along a light colored hair... do you know what I mean? ;-)

I don't really know but my daughter has red hair and i have noticed that red or auburn hair does seem to 'change' a lot. Hers, for example, has gone through very bright copper penny as a child, through strawberry blonde as a teen and early 20 and now as a late 20 it seems to be fading. Perhaps a hairdresser would know the reason?

No, never heard of it this way round usually people are complain of ginger hairs coming through their dark hair. It's maybe some sort of psychic poltergeist posession kind of phenomenon by someone with dark spikey hair like Morrissey.

Usually, which too long for me. I believe it depends on the guy and his face though. Certain guys may pull off long hair and other people can't.

Have you been doing experiments in matter transportation? You might have accidentally trapped a fly in there with you.
