Saw a documentary where Chinese were eating cat. Thoughts?
Is this the new "other white meat?" Would it be considered wrong to export animals from the SPCA as a food source especially since we have an overabundance of unwanted pets, especially large dogs? Might this help our trade deficit with China/Asia?

What's really horrible about this is the way those Chinese people keep the cats and dogs stuffed, crammed, piled on top of each other in cages at the food markets. When a customer chooses an animal, the dealer reaches in with a pole with a loop on the end and puts it around the animal's neck and drags it out. It then receives a bang on the head with a club and is then skinned alive. It's absolutely outrageous and disgusting. You can say all you want about different countries = different customs. That's just pure barbarity. Gandhi once said that you can tell alot about a society by the way it treats its animals. That says it all.

the chinese are communists. they dont care to bake relations better. they are doing fine without anybody else.
re too many pets... maybe the government should stop making war and just start neutering and spaying both animals and humans alike, since they seem to be multiplying at the same rate.
i dont believe in eating cats or dogs, simply cause i can imagine the suffering they must go through. and yet again, in the hindu culture, cows are considered holy, and they look upon us eating steak, as we would look upon the chinese eating cats and dogs.
maybe the best choice is vegan.

People of different countries eat different things. Yes, Chinese eat cat, and other Asian countries eat dog. There are also people who eat horse, monkey, rat, or whatever they can get their hands on as a source of protein. As for shipping the animals out, many that are put down have diseases and it would not be safe for someone to eat it.

Here's my thoughts:

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a disgusting thought that ppl would eat cats and dogs. Although ppl eat cows, chickens, pigs, goats, horses... and other various other animals and they can be (and are) considered pets too.

I don't think sending them animals would help the trade deficit. There is also the possibility of certain diseases being carried over by animals sent there.

We should probably just be more responsible pet owners who spay and neuter so that we don't have an over abundance of animals to possibly send to China as a delicacy.

This is an urban legend that has been going around since forever. I assume that this is what you are referring to, as you don't mention the name of the "documentary."

And ,
during the seccond world war ,many Dutch people ate roof rabbits ,another name for cat ,to survive .

in Africa it is very common for poor black people to eat wild and sometimes domestic cats
when you cut the paws of it is hard to tell the difference from a rabbit.

and Esquimos,North and Central American Indians bred dogs for food

Chinese eat dogs, too. They go even farther there. They breed a kind of dog for the specific purpose of food!

Tell me your joking? These are animals that are pets. How could you even think that? I don't like cats, (dog lover) but I would never suggest they be slaughtered for food.
Edit: I do think we should send over some of the wetbacks for food. That way they quit forcing their stupid language on us and screwing over our welfare program.
Edit2.0: I may point out that I'm also vegetarian. Although I love leather, a point I haven't made my mind up over. My not wearing it won't keep the cows alive because they are used for food. Fur I would NEVER EVER EVER wear.

That's mean! the only reason they eat them is because in one point in history that's all the people could find! Now they still eat them. But its still done in some cruel ways. At least in the less civil parts. Another reason they eat them is there are too many already there! How would you like too be food!?! They all ready have too many so why would they trade us for more?
