Roughly 1 hour for each beer, wine, or shot.
So if you drink a six-pack of beer, it should take at least 6 hours for the alchohol to clear the bloodstream.

Remember, however, variables like weight, male/female, weather conditions, etc.

People who taught me say that it takes one hour per ounce of distilled spirit to be filtered out of your system. As the first person answered, that means one hour per shot, or 12oz. beer, or 8oz. glass of wine, or 6oz mixed drink. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!! If some jackass cuts you off, you could spill your beer.
