I've seen the trailer; it looks like they tried really hard to make it look authentic and to express the emotions Mary and Joseph felt. There probably won't be nearly as much violence as there was in the Passion of the Christ, and it's all spoken in English.

It will be given the premier screening at the vatican!! And the unmarried, pregnant 19 year old who played Mary will not attend!! This actress won an Oscar for something in the past. The movie has been given lots of praise by some of the critics.

They are not the same story. The Passion was about the death of Christ . The Nativity is about his birth.

It opens this Friday, 1 December, and it is the Christmas story.
The Passion of the Christ told the Easter story.
I'm looking forward to it.

This movie is really not about the life of Jesus but on the Story of the Virgin Mary and Joseph and how much hatred she endured because she was pregnant out of wedlock and of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Thank Goddess Mel Gibson is not directing or starring it in or it would have tons of unnecesary violence. My understanding is that it is completely different from the Passion film.
I know nothing about it but am planning to see it this weekend. The trailer looks really good. (And no I'm not Christian either).
