The justice system is so royally screwed up that I sometimes wonder if we might even be better off without one at all.
As someone who was abused by a sexual offender in the past, I would love to know why the accused offenders are getting more sympathy than the victims? That's no different than how the system currently works. Some officials won't believe a kid no matter what they say so the offender is never tried for their crimes and continues to do it.

As someone who was abused herself I can't disagree with you but I would like to make some points.
1) while every child that claims abuse should be paid attention to, and most claims are honest ones, some children do lie. you should make sure the claim is valid before you do something to the monster that can't be taken back.
2) An 18 who messes with a 16 year old is a sexual offender even if both parties were consenting. While I can't agree with the behavior I could not give a permanent punishment to someone with only a three year age difference between the consenting adult, and the consenting teen.

The news report said suspected and accused offenders. These people had not even been tried yet. So to the asker and those who agree with him, why don't we just start randomly excecuting people just in case they might be sex offenders. Not only would we save on trials but there would not even be a need to lay charges, Just a few random killings and that is all that would be needed for justice to be served.

Well I believe that by commiting a crime they have forfeited their civil rights....however not their human rights. I believe that they must be sick indeed to commit the atrocious acts, but I can't help but think of the little child that they used to be and the parents or system that turned them into monsters. We need a better society overall. We need better parents. We need better laws and lawmakers. We need to remember that there are people in this world that are slaves to addictions that we couldn't imagine in our worst nightmares. We need to do something instead of talking about it at the water cooler. We need to protect our children constantly and consistently...and each other's children. We need to love. When good people do nothing...to better the world or their fellow man...we are all to blame. Silence and inaction imply consent.

Because people change. I know it is hard to believe but hey, sometimes it happens. Oh and sometimes people are accused simply based on the fact that they were in the same vicinity as an unattended child. Then there is the people who get railroaded into being guilty. Unfair trials, cops pressuring testimony out of witnesses. I know it sounds crazy but sometimes... Maybe instead of going after every guy who ever may have done something wrong in his life you should learn to only hate repeat offenders, you know, the people who have shown not only that they are obviously guilty but that they will never learn from there experiences.

You would think that with the threat of becoming a target, they would cease. I think they deserve it. How much more of my tax dollars are gonna go to protecting an SVP (sexually violent predator)? Is this considered special treatment if they get protective custody and other inmates who feel threatened dont?

I can't stand sex offenders. I can't even comment on this question rationally because I side with the poor victims that have to endure so much pain, suffering, or even death from these sick people!

people complain about police brutality and then want prisoners
to viciously maim and murder offenders . As the old cliche goes two wrongs don't make a right .And your values are close to that of sex offenders if not worse .they are emotionally disturbed and you are mentally disturbed. Please find therapy before you break through the pusillanimous wall holding back your aggressions .

There are many reasons.
If they do not have rights because they are sex offenders then we could argue a different group of people cannot have any rights for X reason. It's either everyone having rights or no one. There cannot be any in betweens.

You are mistakening convicts that have a notion for justice and the will of a news reporter that HAS to get a story.
