Yes, the SAT is hard. Usually the first time you take it. It is hard if you don't study at all. If you study then you will do fine. I took the SAT's three times and my scores were not really high because i didn't study that much. My scores were higher the third time i took it. so i suggest you to study real hard and practice taking it too. good luck!

Challenging, but how hard or easy will depend on your aptitude, how well you have paid attention in class throughout high school, and whether or not you have taken an SAT prep course. I am very strong in language and writing skills and weak in math. I found the ACT to be easier for my personal style. My SAT scores limited where I could gain admittance, but my ACT gave me a lot more options. And I'm starting my Ph.D in the spring... so just do your best and look long-term. You can take it more than once. I'd recommend taking the PSAT and getting the feel for it before doing it for real. Take a prep course between the PSAT and the real thing.

It is very difficult to get a perfect score, but the good news is that you probably don't need a perfect score:)

Prepare! Prepare! Prepare! You can do a lot to boost your score by taking the PSAT. There are also lots of preparation manuals available at your local bookstore. It's important to be very disciplined about this. If you plan to study, say, 90 minutes per night, then put yourself on the clock and make it happen.

Test scores aren't everything. Many colleges prefer for applicants to have better high school grades, while others are willing to overlook a lower GPA if test scores are strong.

Good luck with everything!
