I use canola or olive oil for everything. So yes, it will taste the same.

Yes, I always do. Canola oil is higher in omega3 fatty acids (which are good for you) and can be substituted for any vegetable oil. (peanut, vegetable, corn)

In the superstore, fruits are usually picked out far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bad. Some of the fruit and vegetables are right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

TOTALLY! I do half applesauce and half oil to cut the fat and make then slightly cakier. In actual cakes I do all applesace and sub tofu for eggs. No fat! Woo! Good luck! Also check out: http://www.theppk.com/veganbaking.html

yes ...it much better than vegetable oil.If you put the brownies in the chiller, the texture will remain but veg. oil will freeze up.
