We held our first a little over 2 years ago. We thought it would be a hardship, but it was rest! It became our favorite day of the week. If you're celebrating tomorrow, I'm assuming you must be a lunar sabatarian? I don't agree with that belief, but whatever. I appreciate the spirit of trying to honor the Lord's commands. Remember that it's what you make it. We adopted some, but not all, of the Jewish traditions:

We began by making the entrance into Shabbat a special and set apart time. We turned down the lights and I lit candles. We didn't sing the blessing of the candles for a long time, because we didn't know it. I never covered my eyes. Our Jewish friends say a blessing that includes a reference to God commanding the lighting of the candles, but that isn't in scripture. We said, "Blessed are you Lord God, King of the Universe, who sanctifies the Sabbath with the lighting of the candles." After that, our family did the Lord's supper together. Sometimes we had challah, sometimes we had bread, sometimes we had nothing because we didn't get to the store. Once we learned the blessings of the wine and bread, we began to sing those too. Then my husband would pray over and bless each of our children as he felt led, bless me, and then I'd bless him. Then we'd spend time talking to each of our children before reading scripture together and singing praise songs. That was about it. We didn't become legalistic, like removing the light from the fridge, or living without electricity, or pre-ripping our toilet paper, or refraining from a hot shower or brushing our teeth-- we felt like these were man-made rules, but we tried our best to spend the day in the spirit of rest and reverance to the Lord. It was a beautiful time.

G-d loves you and knows that you are bringing the offering of your shabbat with a sincere heart. So all will be well and all will be well, in the words of a spiritual mystic of another faith tradition.

Bless you.

Sabot from dusk to dusk starting Friday evening.
May G-d teach you well.
The way the world works it is tough, but keep in mind what the day is meant to be. and watch for yourself wanting to do otherwise. If you have Sabot keeper friends ask them if you can join with them.

The jewish tradition teaches that a gentile who keeps the sabbath is like an adulterer and theif and philosophically deserves death.

If you really respect the jewish tradition, you should think through that.

Any Shabbat keeper for real would address and profess Yahweh by name, wouldn't he/she?

If you are born Jewish well, ok, I guess you have no option, but if you are converting to Judaism, then you don't have to observe the law. Jesus brought Grace to us, because the law failed for Jewish, we don't have to live under the law, we are saved for His Grace, not for our acts.
