The Good question by u ...... Actually alot of non muslims are misconcepted by the Hijab... n u said that is Burqa
The one thing u remember 1st is BURQA is not the symbol of relegion of Islam.
For women in Islam .......... it is necessary to cover her whole body excepting face , hands against those which could come to her Nikkah.
The main concept is Hijab that mean to cover ur hole body even head excepting face n hands and take the loose dress n put the clothes over her breasts .........This is Hijab or Burqa in Islam.

There are some instances that Fireball and that i agree. you're actual, the two are on the extremes. yet once you do not recognize what modesty is, meaning the non secular platforms have failed of their preparation. The extremists will then make calls for that outcome in finished masking, on account that their device failed. And on the different end, the "bare each thing" is likewise a failure of the non secular platforms (noticeably Christendom) to teach the comparable experience of modesty. So, regrettably for females, that's the failure of the two platforms, and one might lock their females in caves, and different might have them bare on the streets.

I guess the original idea was allright. They thought that if sexuallity was divided into 10 parts God gave 1 part to the man and 9 parts to the woman. They believed that a woman in the cover up suit was a "pearl in a shell."

Anyway, as human nature goes this has been horribly abused and turned into something awful. If a woman chooses to not show herself in public allright great but forcing all women in a particular country to wear the bee-keeper suit is retarded.

To answer your question, definately not! :) Most women that wear the burqa choose to and would opt for keeping it on rather than having a normal headscarf.

It gets confusing though when societal laws force them to - even still, most women would still choose to wear it in that society because of religious reasons and their prefrence, save the few who are against it and bitter towards having been forced (and rightly so!).

If other people hear of it being a persecution, it's most likely from the latter type of women who has taken it off after she entered a western country *because* she was forced to wear it. Her intention was not to please God in wearing it (like the other women) but to conform with what the society made her do - thus leading people to believe that *all* women who wear burqa are "persecuted."

burqa is not and can never be forced upon anyone. it is a right of a women. islam commands her to do it. the reason is to hide oneself from unwanted gaze, harrsement, rape etc..... it covers a women completely so men wont wistle when she passes by or stare at her chest or butt etc.... she can wear whatever she wants or whatever she wears at home under her burqa, but to go out she has to cover. i hope u understand. email me if have more questions. take care. may allah help all of us.

I'm sure the women who wear burkas don't think to see it that way.

it might be to us, but ask the women who wear them. I have heard some [who aren't wearing them now] say that the garment is persecution, but have heard others [still wearing them] say it is the way it should be and why should their custom be so scrutinized by the westerners who know nothing about it

burkha is not persicution, it is a sign of modesty
Woman wear burkha for modesty to be pious. They do not wear burkha because men make them, they where it to cover their beauty, and protect their innocence and most importantly wear it for because their creator told them too.
A Nun covers and she is being pious, but muslim women cover and they are being opressed.(DOUBLE STANDARD)
And to my fellow muslim, a burkha is not cultural, many cultures wear it, american muslims, arab muslims, south indian muslims, europian muslims, african muslims, latino muslims, turks etc.

BURKAS ARE A CULTURAL THING!!! NO WHERE IN ISLAM DOES IT SAY WOMEN SHOULD COVER THEIR FACES!!!! COVERING THEIR HAIR OR THEIR BODIES IS NOT OPPRESSION EITHER, ITS TO LET NON-MUSLIMS KNOW THAT THEY ARE PIOUS BEFORE GOD.
