Pretend you gave a gift to your friend. How would you like your friend to react if your friend did not like the gift? You should react the way you would want them to react to your gift.

I suppose if the person is really close it may make sense to ask to exchange the gift. Someone really close probably wants you to be honest and to have a gift you really enjoy.
At the same time, most of the time I tend to keep stuff and just never use it. If someone says, "Does that sweater I gave you fit?" I'd lie and say, "It does! I need to get some woolite because I spilled a little coffee on it last week. I'm sure it will come out."
If you put it in your mind that you sometimes save things for later or sometimes are waiting to get a certain thing to go with it or sometimes want to save things for certain types of places you go, etc., its kind of easy to come up with a lie if it becomes necessary.

you say Thank you very much and take the gift. What you then do with it is up to you because it is now yours. If the person ever should ask where it is or what have you done with it ( which would be rude on their part btw) you can respond with kindness and honesty that you did appreciate the gift but it wasn't your size, style, color, no place to display it properly or something like that. Do not hurt their feelings after they went out of their way to try and do something nice for you.

i'd say it depends what the gift was and if they'll see it if you keep it. It might sound almost mean, but if you really dont like the gift and they gave you a receipt and its something that they wouldn't know either way if you used or not, why not return it? They'll never know!! If its something like a shirt, then you might have to hang on to it and wear it every great once in a while - if nothing else as a tribute to your friend. But like i said, if they wouldn't know, then no harm done!

nobody would give a gift and be happy if you didn't like it....they give because they care about you and want to do something nice for you....i would thank them and return the item...you could tell them it didn't fit, youdidn't like the color, you don't have any more room for knick-knacks, or whatever the reason is....."hey, remember that sweater you gave me?....well i really don't need another sweater, but i do need some new shoes....look at these great shoes i exchanged the sweater for!....thanks for the shoes, i love them!"

ubmhs, i really liked the sweater you gave me. the color was incredible! i looked really good on me
1. but my neice stole it. i guess i should keep her out of my room.
2. but it was too small (thank you for thinking i'm that little) so i gave it to my neice. i hope you don't mind. it's now her favorite.
3.i have nothing that maches it so would you mind if i give it to my neice? she has the perfect skirt for it. and she loves the sweater.
4. but i accidentally spilled bleach on it. can you tell me where you got it so i can get another?

Keep it. Regardless of how well you knoe the person, they took effort to get you it. Be seen in it once and then banish it to the dark depths of the closet.

Keep it because if you tell your friend that it was "not to your liking" that may hurt your friends feelings. He/she may feel like she does not know your style and possibly that you don't like her own style. However, if you feel comfortable enough to tell her you don't like it, ask her, if she doesn't mind, that you are planning on getting store credit on it.

relies upon what the presents are, like do they advise the guy is in love with you? Do they advise the guy feels accountable about something? Do they portray the guy as a creep?? If the presents characterize something which include that i might want to be sure who it change into, if the presents are straight forward universal such issues because the on a daily basis newspaper or like 2d-hand junk, i might want to easily settle for them =) --------------- presents of the middle?? As in someone who's in love with you?? discover out who it truly is because it would want to be puzzling to discover love understanding you'll crush this present givers heart, in case you do not recognize who it really is you'll not in any respect settle for that you may want to or wouldnt have fallen in love with the present giver, therefor you'll carry a number of your heart out of your genuine lover, that is arbitrary. Heres something i wrote 4 years in the past for college, at the same time as i change into 13... Love is a river and also you're a raindrop, you'll fall (in love) to the earth and in case you dont land in the river, you'll evaporate and do it back and back until eventually you do land in the river. at the same time as someone is in love with you, yet you're not from now on in love with them, it really is like you fall in a puddle... meaning it is going to take longer to evaporate, yet you'll evaporate none the a lot less, aslong because the puddle remains there you is unable to fall into the river. The river lasts until eventually the waterfall (death), the position you'll end your journey completley immersed in love, and commence anew on the bottom. if you're in love with someone who isn't in love with you, pay attention, because parts of them will evaporate out of your puddle, yet they couldn't in any respect fairly bypass until eventually you enable them and evaporate your self! This present giver might want to correctly be the river, or purely an outsized puddle! discover out!

If you see this person often and they will know you are not using it, you are also very close to this person, then yes, tell them.
