Im Scottish and only worn/tryed a kilt once this was because my then English girlfirend liked them. Kilts in modern Scotland are usally only seen at special ocasions or weedings(most Scottish men dont wear kilts and would infact look bad in one)))) Going back in history it was just a traditional form of dress much like jeans are today)))And a kilt is not really a skirt))) Scotland like every other nation moves with the times its not the year 1200 its 2010.......

I asked a Scotsman that question the other day. He said it's because of the rumor that they don't wear anything under them - all the girls come up and ask them and then when he tells them he doesn't have anything on, they ask him to lift his kilt and prove it...evidently he gets a lot of chicks this way. I confess, I would look under the kilt if I had a chance.

In reality the men don't always wear kilts, they are go about in everyday clothes officially known as trousers, pants, jeans, whatever you want to call them.
