Hi, if i get a simons mall gift card (i think it has like a visa number) can i use this card like a credit card on the internet to purchase items? Thanks.

Yes you can but you need to register it. The Simon mall gift card is a visa gift card. Some Simon Mall gift cards you will need to active it as well.
Just for info. Beside Simon Mall gift cards. Some other MasterCard and visa prepaid/gift cards can be used on line. Most have to be registered for use by phone or Internet.

The Simons Mall Gift Card is a Visa Debit card. Yes, it may be used on line subject to the same risks as providing any credit card number.... up to the value of the card plus any additions.
Know the merchant you are dealing with.
For example, you see a goodie at buy.com. Go for it. This is a well established company.
You see a banner for a too good to be true price at 800_U_FOOL.com. RUN the other way.
If you make a purchase on Ebay, then I would consider Paypal and not use the Simon Gift Card because of the fee structure.

It might ask for your credit card as a back up payment in case your purchase exceeds the gift card limit either because of taxes, shipping, etc. Let's say you have a $50 gift card, then make sure the cost of the item you are getting is $40 or below because you need to leave some funds available to cover taxes and shipping. Other than that, before you rush to give out credit card info to close the transaction just call customer service and find out policies and protocols on gift card purchases.

A gift card can be used if it has a credit card logo on it, however some sites only take true credit cards, so you won't know until you try. Gift cards are really debit cards.

If its a gift card, I think it would only work on that store. The numbers probably relate to the gift card itself. However, there are prepaid credit cards if thats something your looking for
