i ilive in hollywood, ca. and i know where my local salvation army is, but i dunno if i go there to sign up. i wanna do like local work, like bell ringer, and fund raising/charity.thanks

I would say go to the local salvation army to apply. If for any reason that doesn't work go the area united way, they set up volunteer workers for most non profit organizations. Keep up the good deeds.

I volunteered at the Salvation Army once. Just walk in to your local Salvation Army and say I want to help. Phoning would work, too. It was a rewarding experience.

the salvation army!!! dude do a real charity!i worked for the s.a and they are a joke,liars heartless,and care little for the real people that need them.did you know the lady who leads them,makes like twice as much as the president of the u.s at least.they do not help people until their own salaries are met!after years of vol.bellringer,i was attacked and left bloodied and robbed,by two people one night at a mall while ringing their bell.not only did they fire me as a volunteer,they wouldn't even give me a ride home in 10 degree weather.
i'm sure for every one person who has something good to say about them,i can find 15 who won't.
by the way,why are you asking the ?here?wouldn't it make more sense to call them?

look, , , ill even make you area manager, , , hire all your friends, , , promise them 40% and you take 20% of their take, and submit 40%, , , campaigns are costly and right now we are pretty limited to internet campaigning, , , we need tv ads.
we need volunteers in every area of north america.
probably need thousands of volunteers around your area, , , and we need to do something about your smoking laws and other usless trivia.
we can straighten this mess out, , , vote mejicojohn for king of north america.
