We moved in together a while ago, and split last sunday. since then she has been refusing to return my belongings even though I have offered to return all of hers. I don;t know what to do about this situation and would really like it if someone could help me. I live in central NY and have to follow the laws for this area and the cops aren't seeming to acclomplish anything either. Please help me.

This could be a problem. Depending on the laws that govern New York, you may either have a police officer accompany you to recover your belongings or you may just have to take her to small claims court and get a judgment. The judge will send a keeper to her house, and he will recover your belonging if she does not return them voluntarily.

I would basic offer advice. But I'm Australian! Under the law here you could sue her under the tort of detinue. Get a lawyer they'll explain your options. This is actionable.
