I have over 20 years of dealing with hair. It doesn't affect the growth...BUT!>>> You will get mechanical damage, the hat scrubs the hair shaft, and it will look like it. It defiantly breaks the hair off.
Want Proof?....Take a few hair strands, and rub them back and forth in the palm of your hand.

Cotton hats that you wear during the winter tend to be damaging on hair because they pull the hair shafts or hair follices. Let your hair breathe and be expressionable. After all your hair is a part of you that creates your uniqueness.

that's no longer precisely undesirable on your hair yet its surely no longer reliable to placed on one so commonly. you want that organic sunlight and airborne dirt and dust to create oils that are reliable on your scalp. do no longer wash your hair each day both, it dries out your scalp. once you've evidently oily hair, attempt to bathe it another day. if you're like me and performance a dry scalp already, you could bypass 3 or 4 days with out washing it. Sounds grimy, although that's no longer once you're a sparkling human being. donning a beanie each and every of the time although will make your hair matty and flatten it out once you ought to pick volume and body. I went by this awkward degree besides and purely wore a ponytail known for a 12 months. Which also isn't reliable. So in case you insist on overlaying it, purely be sensible to enable it down and lose at evening.

I think the old myth about hats and hair loss is just that. Hair loss is genetic.
