My 5 month old Pemboke Corgi loves to chew on his pee pads.
I cannot make him stop; I've put the bitter spray on the edges, scolded him, and used the old spray bottle trick.

I've even bought a pad holder, but he can still rip it out!

Any suggestions?

Oh, and if you want, heres a photo of him :D

stop using the pads they only confuse the dogs.. who will eventually wonder why he cannot pee on a towel on the floor or carpet

crate training is better.. go out with him every time and give soft treat reward instantly

more chew toys too.. he is teething
rubber kong type filled with peanut butter is good
rope toys or cheap stuffed animals for dogs

At five months there is no reason why you're Corgi can't be house trained and only go outside....eliminating the need for the potty pads all together. I have a corgi cross and he was going out side at about 3 months for the most part....a few accidents now and then. If you're worried he'll go while your gone for the day at work or wherever, keep him in a more confined space...like a back hall, or even a bathroom (i'm guessing he's not crate trained) Most dogs hate to be near there own waste, and won't go in a small space. I had the same problem when I first brought my corgi home with the pee pads as well....he never actually used them, just chewed them...so I understand you're frustration. Just be patient and make sure you make him feel like the greatest dog in the world everytime he goes outside...he'll catch on quick. Good luck! Give him a treat for me, hes adorable!

How cute!!! good luck with a corgi. I had but my mom has now a Corgi Shepherd mix we called him harry Houdini because he could get out of anything you put him in. We put him in a kennel and actually used a padlock and he got out of it. It looked as if we never put him in! Anyway my point is corgis have a total mind of there own. He is going to continue to do it no matter what you do. If I were you I would try something different like newspaper in stead of the pad. It might help. Another tip is keep down comforters away from him. Mine ate my comforter and I was cleaning up feathers for a MONTH! My vet said they like the smell of the feathers.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/4p1q5

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

Puppies have a knack for doing that. Time to potty train the dog to go outside.

You've tried the best options. You can try to startle her with something that rattles, distract her then give her a chewie instead. Most puppies like nylabones.

Don't use the pee pad.

I'm guessing you mean you use it in his crate?

Get easily digestible chewies from the vet or those suggested for his size and age. Use positive reinforcement when he chews the chewies - negative when he chews the pad.
