As I understand it, the actual cause is still a mystery, possibly allergies or a vitamin deficiency.

Adelle Davis in "Let's Get Well" blames GT on a long term deficit of B complex vitamins. Try a high potency multiple vitamin with a b50 or b100 complex daily for a couple of months and see if you get any improvement. Be patient; results may be slow in coming.

my daughter has geographic tongue and when she gets really stressed it breaks out really bad. If she eats something high in acid (tomatoes) It breaks out also
