Ireland is an island to the west of Great Britain.

The southern counties voted to become an independent nation, and became Eire, whilst the northern counties remained as they were and became Ulster.

Contrary to what some may say, Ulster is NOT part of Great Britain, it is though, part of The United Kingdom.

Known as The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
