Smoking is bad in itself, but smoking this early into a pregnancy is even worse. Besides, if you start taking puffs now you will take more later. If you think times are stressful now, wait until the hormones really start to kickin, and the cravings get worse. Do not use excuses to smoke, it is bad and if you do care about the baby don't do it.

Below are some sites and I truly hope for your baby's sake that you do not take a puff during your pregnancy. Good luck, I know it's hard to give up something you love, especially during emotional times(though not pregnancy because I am a man).

If you dwell on the smoking then go ahead and do it. Do not become stressed over it, because other things will or can develop. Do the Dr. thing and prepare your self for being HAPPY and having a happy child. Your child will be just fine if it is in your genetics. Do you have illnesses that will be passed on because of heredity in the family's? To me those things are far more important. Smoking IS NOT ADDICTIVE it is a habit like eating chips,apples,3 meals a day, going to bed, sleeping, putting your clothes on and on and on with what we all do to make ourselves do what we do.
So many people have listened to all the rants about smoking and now they believe it and don't want to know the real truths.
It is your choise to do what you want to do for yourself and keep a smile for all those that tell you you are a bad person for smoking.
I hope you will be able to with stand those moments of despair from your friends and family. You may want to tell them, telling you to quit or stop smoking, that is a subject I will not have mentioned to me at any time. I am an individual, a person, a human being and I choose to have that subject silenced. If you care for me you must do as I ask and not bring it up ,ever. My child will grow up to be whom ever and in this world no telling what lifes changes will be. What I do now will not
change the life of my child, I will hope that my child will be able to make the right choises by what is right for the person.

Well all I can tell you is the times I've quite(for a reasonable time). I only felt stress from withdrawal for about 72 hours. If your up to 7 weeks the stress is maybe another source. Figure that out and deal with that before you fall back on your progress.

The two drags themselves won't hurt (probably), but the fact that you broke down once will just make it easier to do it again and again... Basically, if you sneak a quick one now, you'll have to start the whole quitting thing from square one. Just leave the cancer sticks alone, and stick with it. It will be so much easier for you in the next few weeks if you do.
Trust me on this... I quit 6 times before I succeeded, and every past attempt had failed because I broke down and had a quick smoke to ease the discomfort. Slipping once just makes it easier to slip again.

No, it is not OK. You will hurt the baby. Smoking reduces birth weight and stresses the fetus. Give up the cigarettes. You don't want to smoke around a baby, either.

Everyones going to hate me for this, but anyway.... when I was pregnant my doctor said during pregnancy is not a good time to give up. She said the stress of giving up can sometimes do more damage then light smoking (under 5 a day).If you are to give up for the sake of a baby the best time is before you try and conceive. Yeah it all sounds dumb, but that came straight out the doctors mouth

No, anything dangerous is harmful to a baby, even drugs. if u start smoking just 1 ciggie, then i doubt yur gonna stop cuz it's addictive on a first try. so once u start, u probably wont stop. Think about the health of yur baby and use this determination and yur resistence to fight against the urge.

All of these things that I listed below are what could happen if you smoke any at all. The final decision is yours and what to decide for you and your unborn baby. I hope you make the right decision and the best of luck to you and your unborn baby.

10 Reasons to Quit Smoking in Pregnancy

1. Placenta Abruption
This condition is where the placenta pulls off the wall of the uterus either before or during labor, necessitating an immediate delivery, usually via cesarean. A smoker’s placenta is thinner, making it more susceptible to an abruption.

2. Placenta Previa
Again because of the smoker’s thin placenta, it is more likely to cover the mouth of the uterus, the cervix. This can cause bleeding during the pregnancy. It also makes vaginal birth dangerous and a cesarean becomes necessary due to the risk of hemorrhage of mom and baby.

3. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Babies born to mothers who smoke are more likely to die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

4. Preterm Labor
If you smoke your body is more likely to try to end your pregnancy sooner in an effort to protect your baby from the harmful smoke. The problem? Babies born even slightly prematurely have a greater risk of death and other complications. The sooner the baby is born, the more likely you baby is to die or have serious complications, including mental retardation and cerebral palsy.

5. Stillbirth
Smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of your baby dying during your pregnancy.

6. Low Birth Weight
Birth weight is an important factor in your baby’s health. The smaller the baby, the more at risk for many problems. In fact, low birth weight is one of the top reasons for babies to be ill and die in the first months of life.

7. Colic
Recent studies show that if you smoke your baby is more likely to have colic.

8. Respiratory Infections
If you smoked during pregnancy or if your baby is surrounded by second hand smoke, your baby will be more likely to be ill, have asthma and other respiratory problems.

9. Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM)
Your water breaking too early is another risk of smoking in pregnancy. It can also lead to premature birth.

10. Miscarriage
If you smoke, you could have trouble staying pregnant. It can also decrease your fertility.
