I have been eating power bars for breakfast ocassionally before my exercise science class because I want energy. However, I have noticed today as I browsed down the store shelf to purchase a power bar all the different flavors they have. They have cappicino, chocalate, berries and cream, etc. So, now I'm wondering if power bars are just another junk food? Are power bars really that good in nurtrition as they claim to be?

Dear, I must disappoint you and state that the too advertised Power bars are neither good for your body nor have the effect they are supposed to have. The opposite, it's quite frustrating that nobody talks about the nutritional side, if you wonder why, the answer is pretty easy: good advertisement strategy. They contain enough NOT HEALTHY ingredients for your body, which in the long run could cause problems, they are full of carbohydrates, of too many flavors, colours, preservatives and are simply "artificial". Eat a handful of dried fruits ( especially apricots, figs) and you will be full of energy from natural sources.
You are right, for me Power bars are simply junk food.
Hope that is of help.
Have a nice time!

Lara bar is a really great bar - they use dates, nuts and bananas for energy rather than chemically produced nutrients.

they are almost alway vegan and some are raw which is great for your body.

check them out online or in your local health food store
