I guess my parents are kind of racist. I've fallen in love with a guy who has an ethnic background and we want to be together. How do I tell my parents?

U guess? Tell your honey .How old are you? Sit the one down who will most align with you---and have a chat----if you are independent...you may have to choose; BUT if it doesn't work out? And what if it could---only you can weigh the risk.

I would suggest you speaking to your parents, make a date with them and your honey to get together to maybe have dinner sometime. But when making these plans, tell them his ethnicity first so they don't get surprised and say the first stupid thing that comes to their mind when seeing him. When telling them, let them know you're very happy with this man and if they say or do anything to disrespect him, it would be disrespecting you as well. At least he knows to be ready for anything (as you've said you told him already how they are). Just make sure he shows them respect as well and doesn't go into it expecting them to treat him like a jerk. That could spark animosity from the first meeting. But you do need to get this out of the way as soon as possible. Your honey might feel that you are hiding him from them and visa versa.
Geez, we see this so often. At least it has diminished a lot in the last 50 years, but racism is still out there. I wish you both the best of luck. Blessed be!

I don't know your age Angel, but you must remember you are young and may break it off with this boy and go through much with your parents and for what? He may be the only boy ever you are with that is not the same race as you right? Just be sure he is work all the headaches.

Let them get to know each other slowly. Eventually this guy will have a first name and personality and he wouldn't be thought of as his race. It's really not that he's from a different race that is a problem, it's just he is an outsider and invading the family.

Talk to your parents, introduce your "Honey" to them - see how it works but at the end of the day it is your life. You are an adult - make your own choice.

sounds like you may be close to opening a can of worms.
the best way to approach this can of worms is introduce him as you see him and take it from there.
they may bring up all kinds of junk in there trunk but this is my suggestion.
