Depending on what state you moved to, if your bank was a chain there should be a location near you. You can use the same bank account if there is a local branch.

If not, you can apply for a new bank account. It can not be done online. You must go into the bank with two forms of ID's. Your drivers license, ID, passport or social security card...either of them would work. One of them must be a picture ID.

I would suggest Washington Mutual. I find that to be the best bank. Free checking. Bank of America would be the last on my list. Those people have fees for everything.

Additionally, depending on what type of credit card you are applying for...you may do it over the one by calling that company. You can call 800 555 1212 and ask for the 800 number of customer service department of which credit company you wish to apply for.

You may apply for a credit card at your bank, you may also go into a department store if you want a department store card.

I would try using a natiowide bank such as Bank of America or Wachovia. I am not an advocate of credit cards and would also suggest looking at daveramsey.com before applying for another credit card. But if you decide to, you can get a credit card through BAnk of America as well.

No, you can't start an account online. You have to go in, in person, to register and to sign documents so they have sample signatures from you, for writing checks. When you start your account, you can get a credit card -- which one you get depends on which bank you have an account with. Or you can just contact VISA or MasterCharge online and ask for a card. It's pretty easy.

You have to go into a bank to start a bank account and sign the papers. You have to show them some form of ID with photo (drivers license or State ID) and you SS card.

After you open the account then you can monitor it on line.
