I wasnt sure if she'd like it either .. now I have a die hard fan on my hands..lol she loved it I think your girl would too.. its a blast fast n loud.. something about a 100,000 people yelling all at the same time... one clue when the green flag drops if the hair on her arms stands up.. shell be a fan for life!!

The first race I went to was in 1960 at 1/4 mile track. This was more like a traveling race or a Saturday night short track with no big fan fare.
In the mid 60's went to a 5/8 mile track. This had a feel of an event. There were autograph tables and displays. The time trials were as fun as the race.
In the 70's Daytona This massive place for a race.Banking that reached to the sky and cars zipping around at 150 mph.
the 80's going to Talladega. This was just as the party infield was starting up.We would rent a Uhaul type truck and find us a spot in the infield and made it home for 2 days. Some of the guys would bring cars so we would leave the truck and split after the race.
Then in the past 10 years I've been in the garage areas.I've gone to the hospitality tents and done the tours at Talladega. There is a carnival feel as you walk down vendors row.it is a sea of fans and spectators.Gordon,Earnhardt,Petty,Racing girl,Chevrolet racing all hawking their goods and all having a good time.
The event within the track brings a vast cross section of people. The true fans of the sport watching a good race. The next to drunk fan the is cursing all but their favorite, the young the old the wall street type to the redneck type.It takes all to have and enjoy the race.
Go watch a race, enjoy have fun.

If you are at all interested in racing, a trip to a Nextel Cup race is worth it. I am a lifelong racefan and I enjoy the people watching, too. It can be one big party, but it doesn't have to be. Get pit passes if you can to get close to the drivers and teams. The new fan zones at places like Daytona are awesome. Consider ear plugs if you are not used to the noise. Rent a scanner and/or Nextel Fanview for getting into the action. Taking a track tour is great for behind the scenes looks, too.
If your girl hates racing, she will get bored. The smell of fuel and burning rubber and the noise are sometimes too much for the non-fan or even casual fan. Be prepared for crowds, waiting to get out of the track facility (race fans don't leave early) and possible weather events. True race fans think nothing of weathering thunderstorms or 100+ heat to see a race, practice or qualifying.

It can be a little boring sometimes on long runs especially if you dont understand whats going on. Other than that its a great day. You should visit youre local short track a few times first. 3-4 different classes of cars run short races. Its great. You might like the enduro class if your track has them. 100, sometimes more, cars on the track at the same time non-stop for maybe 100 laps. Non-stop meaning when they crash the race doesnt stop unless theres a fire or the track is completely blocked.

If she likes NASCAR she will love going to a race. There is nothing like it! It's impossible not to have a good time unless you don't like racing. Just make sure you rent some headsets so you know what's going on during the race. Have fun!!

I'VE BEEN TO THE**** TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY*** ( 2) TIMES. WE WENT BY CHARTER BUS------- I'VE HAD BAD EXPERINCES BOTH TIMES WITH THE BUS RIDES. I WOULD NOT ADVISE THIS. TOO MUCH TROUBLE. BUT, AS FOR BEING AT THE RACE. IT WAS A REALLY COOL EXPERIENCE BEING AROUND THE OTHER FANS . BUT, LET ME ADVICE YOU . NASCAR SEEMS TO BE DALE JR. DOMAIN, SO IF , YOU'RE NOT A JR. FAN IT CAN BE A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE. IN OTHER WORDS, THERE 'S A MIXED BAG OF FANS , THAT TAKE THEIR DRIVER CHOICE SERIOUSLY!!!!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TRACK YOU'LL BE GOING TO. BUT, LET ME TELL YOU ,THAT YOU, WILL BE DOING , ALOT OF WALKING FROM THE PARKING LOT,TO YOUR SEATS, OR JUST BY LOOKING AT ALL OF THE VENDORS THAT ARE SET UP THERE. AND, BE ADVISED,IF, YOU DO GO TAKE A SMALL COOLER WITH YOU (TAKE SANDWICHES,LOTS OF WATER (IT GETS EXTREMLY HOT-------DON'T GET DEHYDRATED),,,,,,,THE CONCESSIONS ARE VEEEERRRY EXPENSIVE------$6.00 /BOTTLED SODA AND WATER-----FOOD VERY PRICEY. I DON'T WANT TO SCARE YOU AWAY FROM THE RACE BECAUSE, IT' S A VERY FUN EXPERIENCE------THERE'S NOTHING LIKE BEING THERE!!!!!! JUST TAKE MY ADVICE AND I PROMISE YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME.....

Going to a race is the coolest experience ever. You will definately not be bored. It really is one huge party. I reccommend Richmond International Raceway. You can see the entire track from anywhere in the stands. You really get your money's worth there.

If she's not into racing, then don't bother. You could take her to Bristol where there is not a bad seat in the house and you can see the whole track. I once took a date to the Brickyard and she was so bored that I wish I hadn't have taken her with me. In fact she was such a stick in the mud that I began to wonder if having an appendage amputated would be more fun!

Why is NASCAR attempting to conceal up their officers lossening up the Lug nuts on Kyle Busch's truck? i've got heard the scrubbed all audio and video of one of their own loosening the lugs on Kyle's truck. i think of this could be a criminal offense for NASCAR to work together motive force protection for political correctness... 12 hours in the past - 3 days left to respond to.
