It is wrong to actually curse someone and MEAN it. That is a serious sin that open you to the evil one.And you should NEVER do that. As for swearing when in traffic, etc. everyone does that now and then to let off steam. God doesn't take that seriously, IMO.
I don't think you should say the JC name. I cringe when I hear someone say that in anger. And if I swear I don't say "God" Damn it. I just say Damn it. But the worst is really wanting and meaning to curse someone and asking God to do it. That is a very bad thing.

It really bothers me when I hear people saying that or swearing to him... We sin enough on this earth, we can at least keep his name out of it!

No. It's just a matter of how you use your words. We have power in the words that we speak...so what it really means is that you're saying that God should damn something. Not sacrilig...just dam*ing something.
