And why is being a homosexual more of a sin than claiming to know the mind of God?
There are Christian drug addicts, Christian alcoholics, Christian sex addicts, you name it! So how is it that Christians can claim to know what will happen to a homosexual? Do they really know a person's heart better than their God?

What an insightful question!!! Why do I have such an interst in it?
To answer what was supposed to be an answer, I'm transgendered, and have many friends who happen to be Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered. (I'll leave it up to you to figure out exactly what transgendered means, and then to guess where I fit in that broad category)
But that wasn't the reason for the question. The reason for the question is to figure out why Christians are so interested in addressing homosexuals and in what they do. I'm also interested in knowing how they can presume to know the mind of God and the heart of the homosexual. Haven't seen any real answers to that yet; at least not from Christians.

Rome didn't fall due to homosexuality; Rome fulfilled a prophesy that said it would fall when the citizens stopped believing in the old Gods. That's exactly what happened. Sodom and Gomorah fell, not becasue of homosexuality, but because the place was filled with real sin, such as an attempt to rape angels. Amazingly enough though, people don't feel that Lot offering up his daughter for sexual purposes was sinfull. Curious.

First of all, I'm Methodist (a Protestant Branch of Christianity), and I believe that homosexuals should have every right that heterosexuals have. Most protestant branches are more open to the subject of homosexuality. It is a current hot topic in most of the general assemblies. The most anti-homosexual branch that i know of is the Roman Catholic branch. Now, keep in mind that not all catholics and not all Christians hate homosexuals.
The thing is, JESUS never says anything bad about homosexuals. JESUS and GOD tells us to love our neighbors, forgive the sins of others, treat others as we want to be treated thought the 10 Commandments and the Lord's Prayer. JESUS tells us to help the leper (Naaman's Leprosy), to be kind to those with disabilities (healing of the blind man), to help those in need (healing of the paralyzed man lowered throurgh the ceiling where Jesus was speaking), to make friends with your enimies or people who you don't like (Zacchaeus the tax collector). With the acception of the Pharisees, Jesus never says anything hateful or discriminatory about anyone.
I totally agree with you! who are they to criticize people jesus would have loved! and even more so, who are they to claim that they know what God wants?

Because when you are wrong but you want your way, you must insist that you are right. Hitler put it this way, "If you tell a lie often enough, eventually people will believe it."
Christians have been brainwashed into believing what their leaders insist on, on a regular basis.
The biggest myth of our religious history is that God considers all homosexuality a sin. The original Bible text said no such thing. However, in 1611 when the Bible was translated into English for the first time, the selfish religious leaders put pressure on the translators to re-word the original text. The original text read something like "a married man should not spend sexual time with another man because it would cause disharmony with his wife.
If you have a Jewish friend, have him read you the original Hebrew text.
Why did these religious leaders deliberately change the Bible? Answer: To grow their empire they encouraged their members to propogate large families so that their children would join and grow that particular religious empire. They discouraged/ condemned homosexuality because it would yield no new members, no new children to be brainwashed.

you're getting there. Now take this one step added and sweetness the place the morality of an atheist comes from. Why are some issues unlawful? because of the fact they reason issues for society. you have already replied why the place homicide and robbery are worried. Society merely does not artwork in any different case - if we theory homicide exchange into ok, humanity would have killed itself off by now. If robbery exchange into ok, we could no longer probable stay jointly as human beings. "i'd say, “Like I suggested until eventually now, If between the events in the intercourse does no longer conform to the intercourse, than it particularly is going to be unlawful. This is composed of bestiality, rape, molestation etc." WHY would you assert that? and don't say it particularly is a criminal offense - ask your self why exchange into it made a criminal offense in the 1st place? next element - why is there marriage? needless to say it has no longer something to do with faith - it ties a pair jointly so they are able to enhance infants exact. that isn't a clarification for comparable-intercourse marriage as 2 human beings of a similar intercourse can no longer have infants. So why is there rigidity to permit it? because of the fact married couples have specific criminal rights and privileges. If it did no longer, homosexuals does no longer have a difficulty with no longer being allowed to be married.

We are not talking about the occasional sin here, if we are talking about homosexuality. It is a LIFESTYLE. One CANNOT continue living in a way that is inconsistent with the Bible, and say they are saved! It isn't possible! If a Christian should lose their temper and say something HATEFUL to someone that is sinning, but you repent of it immediately and stop doing it, and ask forgiveness, both from God, and the person you've offended, That's not the same as living DAY in and DAY out in the same manner you did when you were a heathen! That proves by your fruit, or LACK thereof, that you've never been changed by God's Grace!

If you become a real Christian - you are an ex-homosexual and headed for Heaven - having repented of that sin. Yes - a person can continue sinning but God is not pleased with that and one would have to question whether that person is a REAL Christian - as real Christians strive to be Christ-like - serving Jesus instead of self. Listen, I realize that people still sin - even after accepting Christ - but that is not what God wants - He wants us all - mind, soul, body, spirit - everything. Real Christianity is serving Christ - not serving self and self gratification.

I don't know what they consider so fascinating about that particular "sin", either.
Did you know there was a man who was going to become president of the Christian Coalition, but he tried to bring in an emphasis on poverty and the environment, so they dropped him? It seemed the problem was that the usual gays 'n' abortion mix was what brought donors and attention, and they didn't want to mess up a winning strategy...

Because rampant homosexuality that is acceptable to a society is the final stage before that society falls or is judged by God.
Examples: Sodom and Gomorrah, Rome, and before the flood.

Amen.
Bible said "If we judge ourselves, we will not be judged"
i agree 100%. I met some gays who were really nice at my social group and I have no problem with them. We went to dinner and all. Does that make me a bad Christian fundy? lol
