that would be very rude. you should stand or sit quietly while they pray. you can think about whatever you want, but you should respect their beliefs and remain quiet and still.

you don't have to join the people at the table saying grace, however you could leave during this part if you wanted to check your phone. it is rude, to interrupt anything with a cell phone. how would you feel if you were at the movies and the person behind you had a phone that kept ringing? i would leave the table if it makes you uncomfortable and return when it is over.

You would be a inconsiderate and rude just looking for trouble. If you did that at my table, first your cell phone would go out the window and then you.

FIRST OF ALL THERE IS A GOD
secondly if you were at my home and we were saying grace and you started talking on your cell phone, i would stop praying, and take your cell phone away from you and dump in in the cats water dish

I was going to say take it out only if God was calling you but since you don't believe in God never mind. You don't have to believe in what others believe but you can still respect them and what they value can't you? I'm sure they respect you too.

extremely. even if you believe that there is no God, you should give others the respect that they request by not only not pulling out the cell but by paying attention to what they have to say

yes, it would be quite rude. honestly, show respect. grace isn't more than 30 seconds. i know it must be soooooo hard to wait that long, but maybe you can find it in your heart to show some common courtesy.

Just because you don't believe in god, doesn't mean you should have respect for your relatives/friends.
It won't kill you to sit quietly for a few moment.. Hum something in your head if you must..

I hope you're kidding, of course it would be rude. Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean that you should be ignorant towards other's beliefs/values.
