what does faith mean to you?

I would be nothing with out it, it keeps me going when I am wanting to quit, it picks me up when I am falling, it heals my body when I am ailing, it dispels my doubt when I am not strong enough to believe, it keeps my eyes on Jesus when the enemy raises against me, it is the substance of my hope, my food when the refrigerator is empty, my joy when I am sad, my strength when I can't go on, my sight in the mist of darkness, my light when I can not see, my smile when I feel like crying, my love when I feel like hating, and my way of life. I live by faith, I walk in faith.....

By faith I believe and By Faith I receive, For God I'll live and for God I'll die, and my faith carries me by and by! Glory to God....

More important than human thinking is the God's thinking, as expressed in the Holy Scriptures:

(Hebrews 11:1) Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.

Read the rest of the chapter; it's wonderfully encouraging.

Hope for the things unseen

1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith

1Pe 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1Pe 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
1Pe 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
1Pe 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Faith is the first time a little kid stands on the top step of the porch and jumps off into his daddy's open arms.

Faith is the tendency to believe, have trust, without logical reasons or facts. It is the power to trust something or someone simply because you believe it. It is the state in which you rely on your beliefs and hopes to carry you along without any tangible evidence.

I regard faith as the ultimate evil. Faith, by definition, means to believe in something, without evidence, or in the face of contrary evidence. This is not logical. The only thing differentiating H. sapiens from other animals is the ability to use logic. To deliberately reject logic, and thus surrender the essence of your humanity, is the most evil thing that I can think of.

All faith means is "there's no evidence for it, there's no proof for it, and there's no logical reason why I should believe in it... but I'm gonna believe in it anyway."
