Why mix? Take it in straight shots. Grey Goose.

I am a fervid vodka connoisseur for the last 25 years of my life and I'm not snooty so you can trust my opinion.
1 - Absolut - the smoothest, grain vodka for the med-range price. Great for mixing or drinking straight.
2 - Level One - made by Absolut. Slightly better than above.
3 - Luksusowa - WONDERFUL potato vodka. Like drinking water. No need to mix. Cheap in price and, unfortunately, cheap in quality. It's so smooth you'll drink a lot and feel like death in the morning.
4 - Stoli - Another great, grain mid-price vodka. Better for mixing that drinking straight.
5 - Grey Goose, Ketel One, Three Olives, Van Gogh - expensive, grain crap. Harsh, tastes like alcohol-based cleaner.
6 - Skyy, Finlandia, Smirnoff - cheap grain crap. Avoid at all costs. Unless it's all you can afford. No different than generic vodka for sale at Albertson's. Get drunk on good stuff before you suffer through this garbage. But, unfortunately, death in the am.
I can only imagine what the vodka of yor was - made from potatoes, pure ingredients and probably a clean water source. I bet that stuff was amazing.

I may have a bad taste, but I think vodka is vodka. It's clear and it gets you drunk, so basically the key to great mixed drink is what you are gonna mix with vodka.

But if you are talking about straight-up vodka (like taking shots) I'd probably go for Grey Goose. It tastes pretty smooth.

Don't waste your money on expensive vodka if you are going to mix it with something.

FYI, Smirnoff was judged the best vodka at a blind tasting with most high end brands included. Most of the tasters stated prior to the tasting that they preferred Grey Goose.

Most picked the Smirnoff.

Vodka is overrated and market to dummies who have to much money, to little experience, and are looking for social status.

Wine is a whole different story.

Smirnoff 100 or any 100 proof vodka, you get more bang for the buck.

As for flavors, try Absolut's Ruby Red. It's a new ruby red grapefruit that isn't too sweet, isn't too tangy, but just right. I can't believe I haven't tried it again.

Either are great. Cheap stuff - the 100, it kicks your ***. Girly and sipping stuff - ruby red, a tad expensive but freakin' awesome

Grey goose is great. It is pricey though. A lower cost vodka that is just as good is absolut. It mixes really well and is smooth.

no longer something beats a Vodka Collins: Highball glass crammed with ice 2 ouncesVodka a million/2 ounce lemon juice juice from a million/2 medium or a million/4 super lime 3 teaspoons confectioner sugar Fill with seltzer (no longer club soda, and not flavored seltzer) Stir and upload a pair of maraschino cherries and for slightly sweeter drink, some drops of their juice For a touch different style, use grapefruit soda fairly of seltzer
