What are the strategies non-profits must begin to employ to build meaningful relationships with the next generation of philanthropists?

Social Capital, Political Capital, and a desire to truly make a difference are all requirements to engage a philanthropic enterprise. To be successful though, expertise, awareness, and confidence are absolutely necessary.

Philanthropy today is most commonly found under social entrepreneurs (just google it and you'll see what I mean). Still, although it requires someone who truly wants to help people, it also requires leadership, charisma, and dilligence to get the job done.

the future of philanthropy depends on the future of the tax codes. If in the future, the tax laws remove the deduction allowance for charity, the impact will be huge.

Non-profits need to be held accountable for doing what they say they will do. They need to have goals and objectives and quantify the means by with they will achieve these goals and objectives.

unless people have a genuine want to help a cause i dont think that they would be philanthropic therefore i dont know what strategies you speak of

Why should they? Nonprofits are supposed to be worried about helping people, not soliciting rich people with bleeding hearts.
