I am a physician and your friend is in acute danger. He has a problem but not with his neck, but with his stomach or intestines. The neck pain is probably incidental. If he has hematemesis (vomiting blood) then it is not chronic but serious. The dizzy spells are from blood loss. If he goes to the toilet for a bowel movement, the stool will likely be black and tarry. Since we don't know the cause now, he needs medical supervision until the bleeding has stopped or has been controlled. He must go to a doctor.

Okay yes this is very very serious and yes he does need to be seen by a doc asap. My thing is where i live even if you call 911 and an ambulance comes but that person still refuses treatment they can not force them to go, althought the EMTs do make them sign a paper relinquishing them if any harm is done from the person not seeking medical treatment. My advice to you is go to your local division of family services center and tell them what you have told us. They should be able to help or get u in touch with someone that can. Although yes like many of the others have said he needs to be seen asap by a medical professional. Good luck and i hope this helps. Also throwing up blood could cause weakness that makes you sometimes feel like you are paralyzed from the lack of blood in your body. Also it does sound like something a neurologist along with a gastroenterologist need to look at.

I can't give a diagnosis over the computer but I can tell you that there is something wrong going on neurologically let alone something in regards to his spine, he needs to have a full work up/panel, MRI and Catscan. Call 911 and have them come pick him up. When he gets the emergencey room as to see the primary physician. Make sure you give all the information you have about his condition to the doctors.

Sounds very dangerous- and possibly deadly- may have a cracked disc- spinal tumor or??? Throwing up blood is another story- could be bleeding ulcer or esophageal varicies- I am an RN and he should be in the hospital- D

Just reading this stressed me out. Men are so stupid. My ex would never go to the doctor. Until one day, blood came out of his penis... he was there in twenty minutes. Sorry, off subject, CALL 911!!!!

he'll have plenty of time to try and be stubborn later; after testing is done and they find what is causing such a serious thing, AND he can still walk.

would you rather THAT be on your conscience if you didnt call? Not me...

call 911, screww his stubborness.

well, i doubt there would be any doctors here...i just imagine them being "too good" for something like this sort of forum. snooty and uppity. but hey thats just my opinion. ANYWAYS...as far as the guy getting to the doctor...he is an idiot for not going and if he says he dont want to go because of doctors bills then he is even dumber...i imagine that it could be something serious that could do more harm to him than say a bruise from hitting his head and passing out. whoa...i didnt read the vomitting blood part til i read someone elses cap letters saying call 911 but you really should:

CALL 911 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS GUY IS SICK!!! DONT WAIT ANYMORE!
