I allow other's actions to get me upset or mad. How does one just let things go. I want to be a more mellow person and not worry about stuff. Especially when people play games with me. Thanks for any advice.

Depression is a mood disorder that causes you to feel sad or hopeless for an extended period of time. More than just a bout of "the blues" or temporary feelings of grief or low energy, depression can have a significant impact on your enjoyment of life, your work, your health, and the people you care about.

Depression affects people differently. Some feel down for extended periods of time; for others the feelings of depression come and go. If you have short episodes of mild depression, you may be able to continue to work and take care of daily activities. However, if you do not seek some form of treatment for your depression, you are at risk for getting more depressed or becoming physically ill. In severe cases, depression can cause people to become incapable of communicating, unable to do routine activities, or suicidal. In these cases, it is essential to seek medical attention.

People with depression may be reluctant to seek help because they feel that it is a sign of personal weakness or a character flaw or that they should be able to "pull out of it" on their own. We now know that depression, like other medical conditions, has a chemical and biological basis. Treatment for depression is safe and usually effective even for severely depressed people.
However, there are skills you can learn that are easy to use and once made a part of your daily life will change the quality of your life forever. Visit my website for more...

After years and years of trying to figure people out I've finally given up because you just can't change the way someone else feels. You might be able to give them a nudge or hint in the direction you want them to go, but in the end it's their call. You can however change the way you feel about it. Think of what someone might gain by doing an action. Is that action/motive ok with you? Does it do harm? What are the rules involving that action? Is it acceptable? The person doing the action takes on the responsibility of performing it, if it's discipline or not they willingly accept the risks including what you might do.

I used to live this way for a long time. Made some really bad decisions about work, relationships, friends. At some point you just have to say I'm on this earth for me...period. It may seem selfish, but you have to start thinking about yourself or you will be scrambling around trying to please everyone. That gets you nowhere. Make some priorities for yourself, finish school, get a better job, get a better bf, whatever. It takes effort on your part. Dont worry about hurting peoples feelings, your true friends and supporters will let you crap on them and still be there for you. And you should do the same for your true friends and family. Be there for the real people in your life and limit those to an amount you can really be there for.
If you know someone is playing a game with you, get out of the game. Noone is forcing you to do anything. Choose for yorself the people, friends, bf, workers you want to hang with and politely tell everyone who is giving you grief to beat it. Life is about you taking control of YOU. No one else will do it for you but you.

The key is in your first two words..."I allow." No one can upset you without your permission. Have confidence in what you know and who you are - why is anyone's opinion more important than yours, anyway? If they know something you don't, then listen, think about it, and make your own decision. If they don't, then why care what they think? There are important things in life - people you love getting sick and dying, for instance - and everything else just isn't that big a deal. In 5 years you won't even know these people, anyway. You decide what has value, and you just need to trust yourself and realize that some people just aren't ever going to have a clue and it really doesn't matter because time changes everything. Big picture. Game players are just trying to convince themselves that they are stronger than someone else, but it only proves they have no confidence or character. Strong people don't need games to prove who and what they are. So, if someone's playing games, leave them behind. They are toxic vampires who desperately need you to make them feel important. THEY need YOU. You don't need them. They just waste your time and your heart.

When your not under stress it's easy to distance yourself from other peoples comments. Stressful situations can easily bring out the monster in you. It's good to talk about it with someone or a psychologist.

The best way of not letting things irk you is to put things in perspective. If someone insults you intentionally, just tell yourself that the person probably has some MAJOR self esteem issues. That sort of thing, you know?

I can't remember who said this, but it worked wonders for my stress level. Ask yourself if what's bothering you will still be important in 5 years. The answer is usually no, meaning it's really no big deal, who cares? Then forget about it. If it's family, I feel for you because there's no avoiding mom LOL. Good luck and I hope you find your inner peace!

de@r be@utY, it really is organic. We being people do all stupid stuff. All human beings enable stupid and stupid issues to annoy all of them the time. Its area of existence. If their might want to be no stupidity in existence, then there might want to be no exciting, humor, journey and besides entertainment in existence. If human beings enable stupid stuff happening to them, then later they could snicker out at their personal stupidity. human beings enable stupid issues to annoy them yet after sometime they even ignore it also. it is going to later be remembered as a joke and not in any respect something else. So purely kick back and make existence basic... that is it... :) ....tc...sweet dreamz...bye.... ***** dO wh@tEvEr uR hE@rT $@yZ....*****.
