I took the SAT recently and scored a 1970. Got the following:
CR: 590
Math: 650
Writing: 730
Is this a good score? I know I can do much better and am aiming for a 2200 now. I have a 4.028 GPA and rank 22 out of 652, top 3%. What can I do to improve my score? Also, what kind of schools for engineering do you think I could get into? I'm thinking:
Ohio State(live in Ohio)
University of Illinois-Urbana
Carnegie Mellon
University of Michigan
Purdue
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Alright, I wasn't expecting that type of response. Apparently that score is good, I thought it was just average. I do know that it's in the 93rd percentile in the nation, so I guess thats good.
The thing I was concerned about was the average score of students in the schools im interested in. I meet the middle 50th percent for all of them, and writing is a little higher. The thing is though, with that cumulative in math and reading I can't even get into OSU honors program. I need 60 more points, and also, I'm trying to get a scholarship and need a 1420+ cumulative in the two subjects combined to qualifiy for the full in-state tuition. So I need to score a 710 on all the sections to even get close to my 2200. If you guys go to college, which ones do you go to? Also, does anyone have any other schools in mind?
