Everyone in my church told me to follow the spirit of G-d, pray and read the Bible. Have I been brainwashed? Should I sue? How much?

Maybe it's the opposite. If you do not pray, read the Bible and follow the Spirit of the Lord, you will be brainwashed.

Speaking for myself, when I was searching for God and investigating other religions, something in my GUT told me when I wasn't hearing the truth and when something just seemed "OFF". That same instinct, which I now recognize was the Holy Spirit directing me to Jesus, told me when I was hearing the truth of the Gospel. I have to admit, though, I DIDN'T like what I was hearing! It's a bitter pill to swallow, to have to admit yourself a sinner before a HOLY GOD. But when I considered the alternative, well, let's just say, I wasn't gonna be a fool (I am speaking for myself), and neglect so great a salvation.

Doesn't sound like brainwashing to me. But you may do well to get into an in-depth, directed Bible Study w/ someone who really knows the Bible.

You know that you have been brainwashed when you are alone and your true self and ideas emerge and the others fade. You dont need church to discover God and meet the height of your spiritualty. Humble yourself as a child and then the lord could speak to you.

Well, listen to some heavy metal music. If you can hear the pain before you hear the anger, you're doing OK.
Meh, just be concerned if your heart is washed. Brains can be reprogrammed. Hearts are fragile. And no. No suing.
