is it really "I AM?" Because that's what most spiritual masters say is the answer-
I AM.

Some of you have very good humor.
I was a bit more serious though.
Lester Levenson and all of those who have awaken from this world and it's struggle truly believed that the answer is "I AM." Nothing before it, nothing after it. Maybe it's too much for some of us to understand.
And no, I'm not doing acid or any drugs, just trying to find the answer.

I will hang with those that are seeking the truth. I will avoid like plague those that have found it. "Be still and know that I am God." You as all life & things is God.

The answer to the universe is white dwarf, believe it or not.
I say this because it makes perfect sense.
If the universe is a question (which is how you have put it) then the answer shall be the oppisite to the question (duh), and the opposite to the universe is how it ends, isn't it, which in turn is speontanious combustion, which creates a white dwarf.
You see a universe or solar system reaches the end of it's life span when it's star dies. A star dies when it burns up all of it's gases and spontaiously combusts (explodes from the inside out), and turns into a white dwarf, a piece of matter usually no bigger than an aussie 50c piece, weighing tonnes.
This is true stuff, research it and you'll see.

Yes "I AM" is the answer in the same effect that people who respond to the question who is God say "I AM".
Each person's belief is true to their own mind, body, and spirit, and no one elses. To every person the universe is defined by their perception and their specific perception only, although it may be altered throughout their's life's experience.
I am my own answer to all questions of life and of the universe, just as you are.

descartes said: i think, therefore i am
similar and the same message, but for me the i am is just an admission of consciousness, nothing else
how about the japanese belief that life is but a dream?
not my cup of tea; why should there be an answer to the universe; trying to make sense of life is hard enough

and whoever said u cant destroy matter, have u heard of antimatter? know wat it can do to matter? a reaction that annhialates both forms of matter and releases pure energy.
the other answer about a white dwarf: what about a supernova or a black hole? they can result from a collapsing solar system as well.
