Of course! If they think the hair is damaged, they don't have to use it. Just don't straighten the hair right before you donate it. I think it's really cool that you're donating your hair.

I hope I helped!

My friend is a hair dresser and I have actually been thinking of donating my hair too. She says it doesnt matter if you have split ends or not, as long as it is 10 inches or more that is being cut off. She never mentioned anything about it being straightened, but I dye my hair and that doesn't matter at all so I'm sure with you straightening yours it's not a problem. It will still help make a wig for a cancer patient.

Yes but it has to be at least 10 inches long and fairly healthy, so if your frying it than no... but if you want to keep it healthy... try to use a deep conditioner once a week, get a trim every 4-6 weeks and ALWAYS use a protectant before you flat iron

I just recently cut my hair again and I asked about styled and processed hair (I dye my hair constantly). My hair stylist said that they will use alot of the hair that they get to make wigs, regardless of dye, etc. as long as it is in good condition. If not they sell it to different places (like people who make fake eyelashes) and use the proceeds to cover their costs. They use it either way.

I think as long as the hair can withstand the process of wig making it should be fine. I would donate it either way...and good for you for wanting to do a noble thing.
