I stopped baking ham, ever since I tasted my sister's-in-law ham,it melted in your mouth, she just puts the ham in a large pot, fills it up with ginger ale, brings it to a boil, than reduce heat to a slow, boil or simmer for about 2-3 hours depending on size, serve with pineapple slices, Delicious!

That depends on the type of ham you buy (there are several different ways they are cured to sell). Assuming you're just buying one in the can....which actually taste pretty good....put it in a casserole dish, so the juices have a place to go...and sprinkle it liberally with brown sugar, then slap on some pineapple slices and hold them in place with a toothpick and a maraschino cherry...tasty. Cook it according to the directions on the can (probably around 325 for an hour and a half...depending on how many pounds...the ones in the can are usually pre-cooked, but always good to check)

"Ham with Cherry Sauce" - 8 to 10 servings
1 fully cooked bone-in ham (6-8 lbs.)
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp. ground mustard
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 cup cold water
1 (16 oz.) can pitted dark sweet cherries; undrained
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. almond extract
Place ham in a roasting pan. Score surface of ham with shallow diagonal cuts, making diamond shapes. Combine brown sugar, syrup and mustard; rub over ham and press into cuts. Cover and bake at 325* for 1 3/4 to 2 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 140* and ham is heated through.
For cherry sauce, in a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and water until smooth; add cherries. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice and extract. Serve with ham.

Pre-heat oven to 325 deg F
Put 4-6 oz. of water in roastpan
Put in ham with fat side on the bottom
Cover and bake 35 minutes per pound
This can get no simpler. With ham, you needn't worry about a little overcooking.

Orange Honey Glazed Ham
Ingredients:
1-3- to 3-1/2-pound fully cooked boneless ham
1/3 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon mustard
1/3 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup orange marmalade
Directions:
Make diagonal cuts about 1/4-inch deep and 1-inch apart on the top of ham. Place ham on rack in shallow baking pan.
Insert a meat thermometer in the center of the thickest portion of meat. Bake, uncovered, in 325º oven 1 to 1-1/2 hours or till thermometer registers 135º.
Remove the ham from the oven, cover with foil and let stand 15 minutes. The temperature will rise to 140º upon standing. Before roasting you can also pierce surface with whole cloves for extra flavour.
Meanwhile, combine 2 tablespoons of the orange juice, the honey, and mustard. Bring to boiling, remove from heat.
After ham has baked 1-1/4 hours, brush with half the glaze. Mix the remaining orange juice, chicken broth and cornstarch. Stir into remaining glaze.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Stir in marmalade, heat through. Pass with sliced ham.

I usually pour some orange juice over it and bake it for however long it calls for. At the end of the baking time i put pineapples on it and let those get hot and a little brown.
