I have encountered Satan in dreams and visions, expecially when I became a new Christian. So Christians how often have you encounted the harassment of the enemy. Have you ever encounted the enemy in dreams or visions. Satan hates us, and we cannot stand him either. Do you plead the blood of Jesus when he does? This questions are only for Christians because non Christians do not believe in Satan or his evil angels called demons. I know Satan is real, as I have encounted him. Before I became a Christian I did not believe in Him. Since of became one I know the truth now.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Dear Leanne M,

i think that the enemy tries to harass us constantly. i see spiritual opposition all the time especially when trying to do ministry.

i am thankful that God's word tells us that Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. (The Holy Spirit is much more powerful than Satan) he has no power over us, though he often distracts and harasses us.

i take it as encouragement because i know that means i must be doing something that is pleasing the Lord and the enemy does not like that. i remember having dreams on nights before i was supposed to share the gospel from the pulpit.

Praise God that Jesus has redeemed you to Himself. Pray for your spiritual protections. Remember we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but with principalities and powers.

i know a brother in the Lord recently who accepted Christ only several months ago and wanted to get baptized right away and he started to hear voices, etc. It was great that he shared with a bunch of us and he began to pray with his wife and us at church prayed for him and quickly the harassment went away. Pray, Pray, Pray....

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

thats why it is hard to live in the world, but be separate from the world.

What Satan is doing is in the Bible, Jesus teaches about this kind of act in the parable of the 4 seeds.

first seed is where the seed is thrown and there is no cover for the seed, which the birds(Satan) come and steal the seed away.

second seed is thrown where weeds are, the weeds being Satan come and choke the seed to death killing it.

The third seed is thrown on rocky ground and cannot be come deeply rooted. this seed is vulnerable and will always give into tempation from Satan.

the fourth seed of course is the seed that becomes deeply rooted and will grow and spring forth fruit.

One who accepts Jesus and Lord and Savior in their life is no longer enslaved to sin and Satan, they are no longer condemned to death and judgement as well.

As I have heard that person is now on Satan's hit list.

Satan will try his best to get you back under his control, his selfish desires.

WHEN YOU ARE BEING TEMPTED BY SATAN OR THE DEMONIC SPIRIT ASSIGNED TO YOU, USE THIS VERSE TAKEN FROM THE BIBLE.

"Greater is He(God/Jesus) that is in me, than he(Satan) that is in the world." You are telling saying Satan that Jesus who is in you is more powerful than him and Satan will fight, but then he will back off.

A lot of times God will allow you to strive through the storm of temptation and the attacks of Satan. Why? Because what makes us weak will only make us strong in the long run. Same thing happened to Paul and the messenger of Satan(that is what Paul called this thorn in his flesh). Paul pleaded and pleaded with God to take it away, but God would not, because God wanted Paul to depend on Him and Him only. In the end God did take it away, but this event made Paul so much stronger in faith and belief in Jesus that Paul came out of it unstoppable against the forces of Satan. The same thign happened with Job, Job came out a stronger man in faith. God allowed Satan to test Job, because God knew the final result and that Job would not deny God, otherwise, God would not of allowed Satan to physcial harm job.

WE ARE TOLD THAT HE IS A ROARING LION SEEKING TO DEVOUR Psm.7:2 A roaring lion can tear the soul to peices.

Matt.4:1-11; Jesus had to face Satan, he also protected Peter.

1Pet.5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he
may exalt you in due time: 1Pet.5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he
careth for you. 1Pet.5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the
devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pet.5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions
are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1Pet.5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory
by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect,
stablish, strengthen, settle you.1Pet.5:11 To him be glory and dominion for
ever and ever. Amen.

Matt.16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee,
Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get
thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things
that be of God, but those that be of men. 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow me.
