I am a follower of an eastern religion and have made some unsettling observations:
1) Every Christian I have met is less intelligent than myself
2) Every Christian I have met is ignorant of their own faith
3) Every Christian I have met is a jerk who slanders peoples of other faiths and cares only for those who share their own beliefs
4) Christians are responsible for all the wrongs in the world, as they have done nothing to right them
5) Christians place blame on others, ignoring their own foolishness, saying that others are more foolish than themselves
6) Christians believe in a man who died for their sins 2000 years ago only because a book tells them to do so! How idiotic?? ! Who believes the printed word with no evidence in the real world???

Are these not valid points? Are Christians not leading wasting lives???

Those aren't valid points, and I'm not wasting my life, I'm living it for the creator of you and me. I think that you might wanna start seeing that.

1. Intelligence is subjective. People who are mentally handicapped can be capable of things that we cannot explain, and people who are smart can have no common sense.

2. If you mean "ignorant," then of course we are! It takes a lot of work to memorize the 66 books of the Bible, and people don't have enough time today to recite them word for word. If you mean completely oblivious, then you're dead wrong. All Christians have had Jesus come into their heart and that's the biggest part. The rest is doctrine, theology, and adhering to the Bible.

3. I'm not a jerk, and I haven't slandered you. If I didn't care, I wouldn't be taking the time to write all of this.

4. Lottie Moon was a missionary to China. She shared her faith with the people there, and empathized with them so much. She eventually was so weak from sharing her food with them and having little to herself that she wasn't strong enough for the journey back to the U.S. on a ship and she died. This is only one of many examples, but that would take a book to write.

5.Well, aren't you placing blame on Christians? You are proving that you are no better than we are. Show me a completely wise person (Christian or not), and I'll show you that I can fly by flapping my arms.

6.It's history, it's not just a book. It's inspired by God, and I try to live by it. There are many writings besides the books in the Bible that support this argument. Since the time of the book of Genesis, there have been Jews. Christianity is the fulfillment (or a continuation) of that faith. It dates back further than 2000 years ago. Jesus' birth was predicted.
Truth is: nobody educated denies that Jesus existed, but there are those who don't believe he's the Son of God.
Take a look at the prophecies of the Old Testament (basically the Jewish Bible) and see how Jesus hasn't gone against any of those prophecies.

If you just wanted a simple answer, then sorry. I only give those to questions which require a simple answer (or the really stupid questions like "how are you feeling today?" or "why is the alarm clock beeping at me?")

I am ashamed of all the christians that you've met. not all christians are like that at all! I don't know what you're IQ is but i, as well as my teachers and peers, consider myself to be intelligent. I do not push my religion onto others either. i have never, ever, persecuted someone of a different religion simply because they had different views.

another thing, i would just like to point out the hypocrisy here. what have YOU done to put things right in the world? aren't YOU blaming others for the problems in the world? aren't YOU calling other people more foolish than yourself? look in the mirror. if you hadn't said that you follow an eastern religion, i would be forced to surmise that you are a christian because you match every description you listed.

i won't criticise YOUR religion. i won't critcise YOUR beliefs. i will only criticise YOU for your stereotyping, horibbly misleading, over generalizating, egotistical slander that you have posted on this board.

ouch!! EVERY? hmmmm.... if you are following a religion why did u not state which religion u are in, u should then be proud of your religion, its just sad that in your intelligence, u did not find any Christian knowledgeable than u are, maybe u are looking in the wrong places, ignorant,? jerk, slanderes? responsible for all the wrongs? foolish? idiotic? wasted lives? WOW! such strong words for someone who believes in a perfect religion. Well with your example, even i u die trying to convince me to transfer to your faith, with this accusations i'd be very very fearful because im not perfect, and i think your religion is only interested in perfect people.

Not all Christians are like the one's you have met. There are many Christians who embrace tolerance. Also, there is historical evidence that Jesus lived, it's not just from the bible. Lastly, in this question are you not slandering the Christian faith like you accused the Christians of doing?

Different folks say different things about Christianity: Atheists, agnostics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists...

Although, from experience, I share much of your frustration. My advice? Stay away from Christians as much as you can, and they aren't invasive of my life and I hope not yours.

You seem pretty judgmental.

You sound more christian than the Christians.

CHRISTIANS may not be all that they should be, and CHRISTIANITY may not always be all that people say it is, but CHRIST is everything that people say He is--and MORE!

Don't look to CHRISTIANS. Don't look to CHRISTIANITY. Look to CHRIST! HE alone will never disappoint you!
