Why do some Jew wear those big furry hats?
What kind of Jews are they? e.g. Reform, Orthodox, etc

they are ultra-orthodox. don't know why they wear 'em, other than to keep their heads covered & that is what was traditionally worn in the "old country."

they are hasidic jews and wear the hats out of tradition from the area of europe they come from. notice that some wear their socks in their shoes while others wear them regular under their pants.
