I met this girl, we hit it off nicely, she seems to like me and think I'm cute, and vice versa, we can talk easily from the first convo, and recently I found out she's 17 (I just met her), and I'm 22 since last August. She IS almost 18 yrs old though in like a week or two. What do you think? My friend Jen said "eh four years is okay." Is there anything wrong with this? It's not like we'll be having sex while she's 17 or even anytime soon...but would it be wrong to start dating?

4 years isn't bad at all. Like you said, just don't have sex while she's still a minor and you're legally okay. Since she *is* younger and all, it probably would be a good idea to meet her parents breifly before you go out with her, so that they have a little piece of mind. Good luck!

Deff nothing wrong. My bf is four years older than me and we've been together for 2 years. He's 23 and I'm 19.. if you guys start to love each other it'll work out!

No, it's fine for you to date. I'm 17, the man I love is 22....I wouldn't have it any other way. Remember age is just a number. If you like this girl, don't let her age stop you being happy with her.

No.....but I would definitely wait till she is 18 to be intimate. Better to be safe then sorry. Four years is not a big deal. Its actually a nice space. Take it slow and good luck.

I think it's fine but you might either want to wait until she is 18 or at least make sure its okay with her parents just to protect yourself.

Double date her for now with friends, temptation may come too soon for sex. Play it cool for now and tell her you really like her but until she is legal, you won't get serious.

No, I don't think so anyhow...my mom was 16 and my dad was 21 when they started dating and they are happily married 26 years later! (not saying you're going to marry her, just saying it's probably okay!)
