Would you be okay with someone who had to convert to your religion! I've read that some Jewish people don't really like it when people convert to Judaism...something to do with history! Please correct me if I'm wrong!
But would it bother you if someone converted to your religion?

thanks=)

Read the Book of Ruth (Old Testament), the Mother in law was excepting of her Daughter in law converting. Now on the non-acceptance side, many only consider you a Jew if your mother was Jewish. It was all about paternity. You could not prove who your father was in the old days, but you could be pretty positive who your mother was, and if she was Jewish, so were you. If you truly want to convert, find a congregation that will help you and except you.

no, you can convert with no problem--it's just that jews don't actively recruit for coverts like jehovah witnesses and other religions. you need to take lessons in judaism also, just like any other religion. interesting addition: i'm half jewish, half irish catholic and my wife is muslim. not bad, eh?

I don't know if they like it, but God allows it. He says they have to treat you as one of their own, and you reap the same benefits.
