does it fall out in clumps or all over? The average person loses 100 to 150 hairs a day. Check your family history for types of alopecia(baldness). stress, meds, horomones all contribute to hair loss.

If your hair is falling in a male pattern, go see an endocrinologist right away! Especially if you are experiencing other symptoms such as acne, excess facial hair, missed periods or irregular ones, among other things. These could be symptoms of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). Although there's no cure for it, there's treatment for it! But the longer you wait could affect your weight and fertility, to mention a few problems. So get checked! And good luck!

I didn't read all the answers so I'm sorry if I'm repeating. If it's not a lot a lot, that's normal. However, if it's more than usual and you're having other symtoms such as fatigue, hoarse voice, mood swings, difficulty swallowing, forgetfulness, intolerance to cold, irritability/nervousness, sleep disturbances, muscle weakness/tremors, enlarged thyroid (goiter), irregular menstrual periods, heat intolerance, weight loss/gain, vision problems or eye irritation, and/or dry, coarse skin and hair.. you might have a thyroid problem. You'll have to talk to a doctor about that and have some blood work done.

I know some medication can make one's hair fall out. One of my friends is taking prenatal vitamins which makes their hair grow, she does not have any children.
