If you focus on finding a boyfriend you will never find one. I had sort of given up on finding a decent guy and this guy I knew from afar came out and told me he was interested in me. I had no idea and had known him for 5 months before he said anything... we have been dating ever since (not long, just about 4 months)... but my point is, when you honestly give up and STOP looking, it finds you.

as a man I can tell you that all it takes is "puttin out the vibe". I am guessing from your name that you are a big girl. there plenty of guys that like big girls so just put out that vibe Some guy will pick up on it. Personal adds have worked for me and I'm a guy so I figure they MUST work for girls.
One more thing is people tend to be picky about they're boy/girl friend's appearance and looks... don't be too picky.

Look around for a guy that's cute you know that has looks. Then get to know him. (By saying hi or some thing or talking to him casually). Then once you know him (and still like him ask him out and keep on dating). Then it's easy.
