I'm a junior, and I haven't had a girlfriend since 8th grade. Trust me, it's not that the girls aren't interested (maybe it's cause I'm too cocky, lol), but I'm just not that interested. I'm not gay, I'm just too caught up in everything else to bother. From what I have experienced and seen, it's not until you really start dating someone that relationships are worthwhile (wow, do I sound prude or what). I tried a homecoming date, but that didn't work out. I haven't met a girl that I am really excited about dating. I think I may put too much emphasis on these damn cliques. Anyone else feel the same way?

Trust me after high school if you continue to even speak to three people from your class that will be a miracle. Give it a year or two and even those folks will fade away, it is just how it goes, life moves on.

So what I am saying is focus on your future, your goals, your education. Once all this is in the works the rest will fall into place. Not trying to be bleak but this is reality.

Ask yourself, do want to be the person who has a baby at 20 and no idea of what to do with your life? Ever try to do the math on the cost of living (apt, car, power, food) on your own at $8 per hour? Unfortunately one or both of these two senarios await over half the people you are jealous of.

Why? High school ends and everyone who didn't plan is stuck. Now is the time to plan your future. Make a logical clear plan, where A goes to B and B to C. No guessing, no games.

The good news is you will meet someone. You will meet a lot of someones, some for a short time, some for a long time. When ever those feelings of self doubt creep up about dating and cliques just remember your plans. And also remember even the people in the 'right clique' have the same doubts.

Don't feel like you have to only date popular girls, unpopular girls are a lot of the time nicer. What if you decide not to try this and then the girl for you was one of the unpopulars and you miss out?
